About Toyota Gazoo Racing Paraguay
Beginning
Toyota or Toyotoshi in Paraguay is the brand with most Trans Chaco Rally wins. It holds 22 wins under its name until 2024. It all started with the founder Naoyuki Toyotoshi, who started to race back in the 80s.
2024
Up until June of 2024, we had a home made rally car, which was not the fastest car in Paraguay. In Paraguay, rally is an important sport, so there are a lot of high demand for R5 rally cars which come from oficial brands like Skoda, Hyundai and Volkswagen.
2024 part 2
This year in June, we received the Yaris Rally 2 car, that came from oficial Toyota factories in Europe. This is the only Yaris Rally 2 in South America, which is a great achievement for the Toyotoshi Family. Oficial Toyota engineers also went to Paraguay to test the car.
Winning 2024 TCR
This years TCR was a great battle between rally teams, but fortunately with the new car we managed to win this years TCR taking our 22nd win. Marcelo Toyotoshi my father, won the Copa Dunhill which marks his 5th win in the TCR
